We are very fortunate to have been granted £2,650 by the executors of the estate of Joyce Nash, CC, to be used exclusively towards the cost of purchasing a new digital piano. This represents over half the cost of a new piano.
Joyce Nash was a Common Councillor who represented the Ward of Aldersgate, in which we live, to the City of London Corporation for many years. Joyce was a great advocate for the residents of our Ward who gave freely of her time, and great experience, to improve the lives of residents of the Ward. We are very grateful that the executors of Joyce's estate considered our bid for a piano to be worthy of Joyce's wishes to benefit the local community in her will.
Our bid for funding for our digital piano was originally submitted to the Culture Mile Business Improvement District via the ActionFunder website in 2024. Our bid was unsuccessful on this occasion.
We updated our bid to include the news of the funding obtained from the estate of Joyce Nash. Our bid was resubmitted to the 2025 funding round of the Culture Mile BID and this time our bid was successful. We were awarded a further £2,000 towards the cost of a new digital piano.
We were told by the Chairman of the Culture Mile BID funding committee that our request for funding found favour this year because of the money that had already been promised. They were pleased to match-fund our existing fundraising efforts.
